  Executive Summary

The Goal of OrphanAct:

The goal is to help Russian orphans by presenting humanitarian aid projects to U.S. Rotary Clubs via the internet.

Unique features of OrphanAct:

This is a long-term, multi-district project. OrphanAct uses the power of the internet to display pictures of children and projects so that Rotary clubs may easily select a project to sponsor. For the first time, Russian orphanages in the remote cities of Eastern Russia will be given exposure to U.S. Rotary clubs by having their own web pages on the OrphanAct website.

How OrphanAct works:

Russian Rotary clubs find projects at local orphanages. They take photos of the projects, the children, and the orphanage facilities. The photos and text are posted on the OrphanAct website. U.S. Rotary clubs access the website, see the photos and may then choose a project for their club to support. OrphanAct volunteers facilitate the processing of the project by communicating with the U.S. Rotary club and the Russian Rotary club. Photos and receipts of the completed project are posted on the OrphanAct website.  OrphanAct is an all-volunteer project.

Support for OrphanAct:

OrphanAct is sponsored by the Kihei-Wailea Rotary Club.
